We are roughly 20 Patchies, based in Vienna, Styria, and Wisconsin, spanning 50 decades in age. Diversity is a core part of our company culture – our team brings together colleagues from 8 different nationalities (plus 1 office dog). Day to day, our communication is a natural mix of English and German, though our official company language is English.German, though our official company language is English.>/span>
We work on innovative products and aren’t afraid to try new approaches. Everyone’s contribution is visible here, your work has a direct line to the outcome, not five layers of approval in between. Our founders are still part of the management team, directly involved in what we do every day. And because we’re small, every voice carries weight from day one: we want people who don’t just execute, but actively help shape the company and take part in decisions.
Our office sits on the 27th floor of Millennium Tower with a view over the Donauinsel, and is easy to reach thanks to great public transport connections. We work in an open-concept space with height-adjustable desks, several meeting rooms, and phone boxes for calls or focused work. When it’s lunchtime, you’ll find plenty of options right in the shopping center downstairs. We’re also known to compete in bowling in the in-house arcade.
We know interviewing for a job can be stressful, so we do our best to make the experience as smooth as possible for you.
We read every application ourselves, so no bot decides whether you move forward – which also means it may take roughly 10 days until you hear back from us. Expect a phone call from us, and check your email spam folder just in case. If you feel like you’ve been waiting a while, just drop us a message at talent@patchbox.com.
A short call with HR and your future Team Lead, built around a standardized set of questions to get to know each other: what you’re looking for, what the role actually involves day to day, and whether there’s a mutual fit worth exploring further. Be prepared to talk about your potential starting date, desired working hours, and salary expectations. It’s also your chance to find out whether you can see yourself in the role.
You’ll come by our office for a deeper conversation. Depending on the role, this may include a small case study, a culture-fit conversation with your future team, and – if it makes sense at this stage – a chance to meet management. We want to get to know more about your experience and how you approach your work, and sometimes we’ll bring you back for a second round if we’d like another team member’s perspective before deciding.
Once every applicant has had a fair chance in a face-to-face meeting, we’ll make our decision. If it’s a match, we’ll walk you through the offer in plain, everyday language (not legalese) and answer any open questions along the way. No pressure, no back-and-forth games.
